These 5 after gym hair tips from T3 Lead Stylist David Lopez might not get you to the gym, but you’ll look incredible leaving.

Workout Waves

Work with what you’ve got! It’s easy to hide after gym hair by messing up your part. Apply a light styling cream from the middle to the ends of your hair. Use your T3 Featherweight Compact dryer on the medium heat setting to gently revive your locks. Tilt your head to the side and point the dryer downward as you lightly scrunch your hair to encourage a natural wave pattern. Then, tuck some hair behind your ears and leave out bits around your face for a flirty, low-key look.

Braids With Body

There’s nothing a braid can’t hide! If you tend to get frizz in the crown area and greasy around your hairline, a braid is a great, stylish way to camouflage it. Apply a dry texturizing spray onto the roots and mid-lengths of your hair. Starting with a loose, messy center part, create a french braid along each side of the part towards the back of your head. Secure each braid with a small elastic and add bobby pins if necessary. Gently open up the braids with your fingers for a more casual, boho-chic look. Spritz a small amount of sea salt texturizing spray into the ends of your hair and go!

Functional Moves

Quick, effortless waves are a breeze with the SinglePass Compact iron. Split your hair into four large horizontal sections. Hold onto the end of each section of hair as you use the Finger Waves over-under technique with the iron. Once you’ve mastered the technique, this style will take less than five minutes! Gently rake a matte paste through the hair for a textured finish.

Pump It Up

Throw it up! Making your up-do look “on purpose” is easy. Before leaving the gym, spray a volumizing dry shampoo into the roots and mid-lengths of your hair. Then, use the Featherweight Compact dryer on the lowest heat and speed settings to gently break up any residue. Using your jawline and the top of your ear as a guide, loosely gather your hair into a high ponytail. Don’t worry about making it clean, and leave your baby hairs out around your ears for a softer look. Take a 1″ strand from the ponytail and wrap it around the elastic to instantly give this casual look a street style inspired finish.

Classic Curl-Ups

Embrace those curls! Before you start working out, loosely gather your curls on top of your head in a bun. When you’re done, gently take down your hair and shake it out. Be careful to not rake through your curls and manipulate them too much – this will ensure maximum definition and will minimize frizz. Use the Undone Waves barrel from the Whirl Trio to redefine any curls that have lost their shape during your gym session. Finish by applying 3-4 drops of your favorite hair oil onto your palms and gently squeezing it into your hair.
