T3 Woman Melanie Buttarazzi: Motivated through movement

T3 Woman Melanie Buttarazzi

Whether she’s performing, working with foster youth, or video taping weird things she finds in her purse, T3 Woman Melanie Buttarazzi dances through life with confidence and poise. Naturally after our chat, she danced her way into our hearts as well.

Q: You’ve had exceptional success as a professional dancer. What has been the most challenging and fulfilling obstacle you’ve overcome in your career?

A: The  most challenging thing is to stay in a positive mindset by keeping self doubt out of the equation and staying focused on the mission at hand. Anything can be achieved if we truly believe in ourselves and work for it. Sometimes as an artist, it can be defeating to experience rejection; but that’s all part of the process that leads to success. It’s a challenging, yet rewarding and fulfilling obstacle. We may not see how close we are through the darkness, but if we keep going we will get there.

Q: What song gets you motivated to dance?

A: It’s so hard to say! I just got in to a new playlist on Spotify with a variety of house music and a little bit of old-school rock and roll, which has such a cool vibe. That’s been on repeat for me the past two weeks.

Q: You founded Fostering Dreams Through Dance to inspire foster youth to find their voice through dance. At what age did you find that confidence in yourself through dancing?

A: It was probably the age of four. I would see music videos or dancing on TV and just dance around the house. I’ve always felt my best self come out when I dance.

Q: When you feel like quitting, how do you get through it?

A: Friends and family! I’m so thankful to have such supportive, uplifting people in my life who always remind me not to give up even when I think I’ve had enough.

Q: What advice would you give to someone who wants to get into your field?

A: Make sure this is what you really want to do because it’s not something you can do half way. You have to be all in or not in at all. It’s not easy and it takes a lot of blood, sweat and tears. But the rewards are far greater than any doubt or hard times you’ll face. Just make sure it’s what you truly want.

Q: You do YouTube videos of what’s in your bag. What is the absolute weirdest thing you keep in your purse?

A: Well, that’s a hard one to answer because every day there’s something that tops the previous weird thing. I had a burrito in there once that I ate throughout the day. And a sausage in a bun that I accidentally kept in my bag over night and ate the next day for breakfast. It was still good!

Thoughts on T3…

Q: How have T3 tools helped you in your daily life?

A: T3 tools are truly amazing. They heat up very fast and are ready to use in seconds. This saves me so much time in the morning when I’m getting ready and definitely makes my life a lot easier. Especially if I’m in a hurry.

Q: What does beautiful outside, and powerful inside mean to you?

A: Beautiful on the outside means taking care of your body as a whole. Eating well, exercising, and doing physical activities, all contribute to our well-being. Having inner peace and self love is powerful. Let’s also not forget, red lipstick!

Q: Curls or straight? How would you rather wear your hair?

A: My favorite is actually wavy! I love loose waves because it adds the right amount of body and fullness to my hair.

Q: What is your favorite performance hairstyle?

A: A low Spanish style bun for sure!
