Volume and braids and bangs, oh my! We compiled a list of the top 5 hair trends from the SS17 runways.

Watered Down

Take a note from Altuzarra, Thakoon and Jason Wu: wet, freshly-showered hair is in. These designers sent their models down the runway with sleek, nearly dripping wet locks complimented by smokey eye makeup. Not quite into the super-soaked look? Ease into the trend by emulating Alexander Wang‘s barely dried beach waves.

Bang, Bang

To be blunt, these short and choppy bangs rocked the runway. Sharply severed fringe could be seen everywhere from Jeremy Scott to JW Anderson to Pringle of Scotland, and provided a striking contrast to the brighter and softer nature of spring/summer fashion.

Ability To Accessorize

Blow a goodbye kiss to flower crowns and metallic barrettes. This season, it’s all about unexpected accessories. Rodarte‘s sequins and lace hair blossoms were something out of a dream, while Tibi‘s belted ponytails added an element of intrigue to an otherwise simple hairstyle.

Twisted Tails

Full-bodied braids took a back seat this year as thin, sporadic plaits have graced the runways. Preen by Thorton Bregazzi and A Détacher boldly showcased their models’ hair fully twisted, while Jonathan Simkhai opted for a more subtle and wearable approach.

Such A Tease

Polished, yet unpolished. Done, but also undone. Designers modernized looks from the sixties with a bit of texturizing spray and a lot of teasing. Want to replicate Ana Sui‘s beehive or Thom Brown‘s teased blowout? Our new, award-winning Volumizing Hot Rollers LUXE will have your hair catwalk ready.
